Hello strangers! I know I owe you an explanation as it’s been far too long. I was going through the motions of life & needed to step back. I’ll explain more when I’m ready, but until then just know I’m happy to be slowly sharing content with you again. What better way to start off then to stop all the Christmas talk and enjoy the next holiday upon us which is Thanksgiving! This post is to show you how easily you can make your drab front stoop into a fabulous welcoming fall oasis!
It doesn’t take much time or money to create a pretty stoop for any holiday. One of the smart things to do when it comes to a fall stoop is to purchase artificial pumpkins. Not only do you not have to worry about rot but you can use them year after year saving you tons of money! You can always incorporate the real deal too (which we did once we had our carved pumpkins for Halloween…and they lasted just 5 days thanks to the NC rain & humidity).
All of my pumpkins are artificial & from Michael’s. If you’re a fan of Michael’s you know that they are always having sales (especially after holiday’s), & are always offering 40% off coupons. Take use of that while you can! Wal-Mart is also a great place to go for inexpensive decor (that’s where I got the “Happy Harvest” yard stake for $2! The fall garland on the door is also from Michael’s, & the wreath is an oldie I got from Target a few years back. Mums are a no brainer since they’re a fall staple you can find just about anywhere once fall hits.
Pumpkins, wreath, fall garland & mums. That’s all you need! Throw in a few extra things here & there like I did with the yard stake & the flipped over buckets to create height. As you can see from the before & after a little goes a long way. If you’re hosting Thanksgiving or simply want to add some pizzazz to your home it’s really easy & inexpensive to do. You’ll be amazed by the compliments you get from neighbors and how it makes you smile walking to your own front door.
I look forward to creating a Christmas stoop after Thanksgiving is over of course! 🙂
