Happy Thursday! We all lead busy lives so when I want to make a fast and tasty meal I turn to the Barilla’s Better For You Products. My go to is the Whole Grain Pasta’s, and I love to make a batch of turkey meatballs to throw on top. A little pasta goes a long way to keep you full, and we always have leftover meatballs making it easy to whip up lunch or dinner during the week. Super wholesome and delicious, and a treat the entire family will love!
Every time I swing by Walmart I’ll scoop up some packages of the Barilla Whole Grain Pasta and Sauce. Not only is the pasta all natural but it’s an excellent source of fiber made with 100% Whole Wheat, and it has a whopping 56g of whole grain in each serving! The Barilla Gluten Free pasta has even been recently named one of Parents Magazine’s “Top 25 Allergy Free Foods.” Read the article here: http://www.parents.com/recipes/healthy-kids-snacks/parents-best-allergy-friendly-packaged-foods/. The tomato sauce is all natural as well with no preservatives, Gluten Free, and made with non-GMO ingredients. I don’t know about you, but all this goodness is something my mouth and stomach can get behind! Ibotta even started offering a rebate on all these fabulous Barilla goodies on 3/29 which you can redeem for yourself here: https://ibotta.com/rebates?q=BarillaPasta
I make my turkey meatballs with whatever I have around the house. This particular batch came out nice and tasty! Here’s what I did:
Pre-heat your oven to 350 degrees. In the meantime throw all these ingredients in to one big bowl.
- 1 lb 99% fat-free ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 can semi-dried tomatoes chopped
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt and pepper to taste
Mix everything with your hands and form in to whatever size meatballs you desire. Spray a cooking sheet and add meatballs. Cook for 15 minutes then flip and cook for another 10-15 minutes until fully cooked through.
You all know how to boil water and make pasta so once that’s done simply top with some sauce, a few meatballs, and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese!
