The day started with a beautiful sunrise, & perfect fall weather. We had some rain in the afternoon, but it didn’t stop anyone from playing & having a great time!
The man who makes this all possible who I am proud to call my Father, & Sandra! Sandra is G4G’s ministries executive director & puts in so much time & effort to make this event & all the events great ones. Sandra is a beautiful woman inside & out!
My lovely Mother, brother Brent, & me! Although we don’t see much of each other at the event, it’s nice to have the family there! My Mom rocks as a volunteer at all events, & they wouldn’t be possible without her.
Over 100 folks came out to play golf & raise money & awareness for G4G Ministries!
This picture doesn’t do these chickens justice. They are delicious & made at every grilling event with a special sauce! G4G has grilled over 4,500 birds, & fed people with over 18,100 plates! Go to www.g4gministries.com to see how you can help that number continue to grow!!
This was a REALLY cool gun that shot golf balls! It was being shot on the 14th hole so it’s actually being shot on the green! The balls are marked so you can make it a game in itself to see who gets closest to the hole! It was so fun to shoot & watch others argue over who’s ball shot closest!
My shameless selfie from the event with the G4G Ministries t-shirt! I took the photos for the event (except the one I asked someone to take of my Mom, brother & I 🙂 ), so I had to get myself in one!
G4G’s van with a very important message of something we need to remember to do every single day.
I’m bringing you a different post today to talk about something that is near to my heart, & that’s G4G Ministries, known as Grill for God. G4G’s Mission Statement is “G4G Ministries, Inc. is committed to glorifying our awesome God by serving the least, the lost, and the last of North Carolina through feeding them physically and spiritually,” which couldn’t be more true. Although I’m unable to go to all the events because of the distance I make a point to go every chance I get. This golf tournament is a once a year annual event, & not like most grillings where G4G is feeding people that have a hard time feeding themselves. Not only are the events such a spiritually uplifting thing for the volunteers, but for the people that are being helped as well. Many times in life do we forget how blessed we are with the people in our lives, the shelter over our heads, the food we eat, clothes we put on, & simply our breath of life. Being able to help & share what you can with others is a blessing in itself. These events are a good reminder to count your blessings, thank God every day for the gifts in your life big or small, & to never take things for granted. To learn more about G4G, see upcoming events, get involved or donate go to www.g4gministries.com. Like Ellen always states at the end of her show “be kind to one another.”
